An investigative novel published in the USA in February 1952 and in the UK in March of the same year, appeared in the novel Detective Hercule Poirot and writer Ariadne Oliver.The novel begins by finding Mrs Magneti horrendously murdered in her home, and all the evidence suggests that she said she was her young tenant, James Pantley, who had accumulated debts, in order to seize her money she was hiding in a corner of the house.
But the inspector in charge of the case does not seem convinced that Bantley is the real criminal, he asked for help from his friend Poirot.
What Poirot did, how it would begin, and where the course of the investigation would go, especially since he had limited time to get to the truth.
